7/7 MLB DFS (Early) Studs & Values

9 games on the MLB DFS 4:05 P.M. EST fantasy baseball slate this afternoon, and that’s the one I’ll be playing, personally. Absolutely zero weather concern for this slate; park factors and matchups are the only criteria at play.

There are a lot of ace level pitchers available – honing in on the ones worth rostering will be key to winning salary cap MLB DFS contests this afternoon.

Stud: Charlie Morton (vs. Chicago White Sox)

In a small sample of just 8 at-bats, Jose Abreu, Yolmer Sanchez and Avisail Garcia are a combined 1-8 against Morton with a .250 OPS. Morton has an 11.7 K/9 and a 2.55 ERA in 102.1 innings on the year. He has yet to face the White Sox this season, however, they lead the league in strikeouts as a team, so its a favorable spot for the Houston right-hander.

Also Consider: Blake Snell (vs. NY Mets), James Paxton (vs. Colorado)

Value: Jameson Taillon (vs. Philadelphia)

Speaking on teams who lead the league in strikeouts, the Phillies are 4th in MLB. Taillon brings a modest 8.39 K/9 into this matchup, as well as a 4.05 ERA in 93.1 innings on the season. PNC Park has been relatively neutral from a park factor standpoint in 2018. Taillon is favored to get the win today as well, which helps if you need a cheap second starter for this slate.

Also Consider: Steven Matz (@ Tampa Bay)

Stud: Evan Gattis (vs. Chicago White Sox)

Also Consider: Yadier Molina (@ San Francisco)

Value: Elias Diaz (vs. Philadelphia)

First Base

Stud: Matt Olson (@ Cleveland)

Also Consider: Yuli Gurriel (vs. Chicago White Sox)

Value: Ronald Guzman (@ Detroit)

Second Base

Stud: Ozzie Albies (@ Milwaukee)

Value: Jedd Gyorko (@ San Francisco)

Third Base

Stud: Jose Ramirez (vs. Oakland)

Also Consider: Alex Bregman (vs. Chicago White Sox)

Value: Jose Bautista (@ Tampa Bay)

Stud: Francisco Lindor (vs. Oakland)

Value: Jurickson Profar (@ Detroit)

Also Consider: Johan Camargo (@ Milwaukee)

Stud: Aaron Hicks (@ Toronto)

Also Consider: Aaron Judge (@ Toronto), Ender Inciarte (@ Milwaukee)

Value: Josh Reddick (vs. Chicago White Sox)
